Job Description of the Imam
The Imam will perform the
following tasks:
- Lead all
congregational prayers.
- Organize
regular educational programs for children, teens, women, and men.
- Fulfill
the needs of the Muslim Youth by helping them to develop a good understanding
of Islam and practicing it.
- Answer
questions on Islam as they are referred to him by Muslims and Non-Muslims and
offer advice on Islamic issues.
- Have
effective verbal and written communication with Muslims and Non-Muslims.
- Volunteer
his services to the Imam of Correctional Services of Canada, so as to assist
him in meeting the needs of Muslim Inmates.
- Encourage
Muslims to perform Islamic rituals at the Masjid and to participate in the
activities of the Islamic Society.
- Attend to
the spiritual needs of Muslim patients in Kingston
hospitals, when requested.
